For this week, I will be going back to the painting week. For my painting post I spray-painted a template of a design I created on Adobe Illustrator on a piece of wood. I will now teach you how to do it.
- Spray paint of any color you want
- Exacto knife
- White Shipping Labels
- A design
- A piece of wood
First, what you want to do is create a design on the computer or you could craw straight onto the shipping label. If you made a design on the computer print out the design onto the shipping label.
Next, stick the label onto your piece of wood. Place it wherever you want the design to go.
Once the design is on the wood, get your Exacto knife and cut out the parts you want to be painted on the wood.
After you cut out all of the parts you want to be painted, cover up the rest of your wood by taping newspaper around the exposed area.
Next spray paint the template you have created with a thin coat and wait until it is dry before you apply the next coat. Then keep repeating until you have your desired density.
After it is dry take off the newspaper surrounding the template. Then begin peeling off the template. You can use a wet towel to help quicken this process and to get rid of any parts of the template you may have missed. Then you should have your design painted onto your piece of wood.
